A real ledger, not a list of invoices.
Most business software tracks what was sold. Far less of it can produce a trial balance that actually balances, close a fiscal period, or tell you why yesterday’s cash was out by two hundred rupees.
We built and operate a double-entry general ledger in production — chart of accounts, trial balance, balance sheet, profit and loss, fiscal-year close, multi-currency and multi-branch. This is a description of code that runs, not of experience we have.
Sound familiar?
A week in this business.
If three or more of these are true, the problem is usually not the tools. It is that none of them talk to each other.
- The accounts are reconstructed in a spreadsheet at month end
- Nobody trusts the system’s numbers enough to use them in a decision
- Cash never quite matches, and nobody has time to find out why
- Year-end close is a fortnight of manual work
- Multi-currency is handled by converting it in someone’s head
What we’d build
The parts that matter here.
Which route
Configure something proven, or build it?
Most vendors answer this the way that suits them. Here is how it usually goes in this sector — and we will tell you plainly which side you are on.
Open-source ERP
Usually faster and cheaper
Strong for standard accounting. If your requirements are ordinary, paying to rebuild a ledger would be a poor use of money.
How we do thisCustom build
When the standard parts run out
Justified when accounting has to sit inside the operational system rather than beside it — a sale, a stock movement and a ledger posting as one transaction, not a nightly export.
How we do thisQuestions
- Do you build banking software?
- No, and we would tell you if we did. What we have built is a double-entry accounting engine inside an ERP, plus payment gateway integrations. Several of our engineers came from banking, which is why that engine exists — but a core banking platform is a different undertaking and we would not pretend otherwise.
- Can it work alongside our accountant’s software?
- Usually. Most engagements end with a clean export or a direct integration rather than asking an accountant to change tools, which is a fight nobody needs.

Thirty minutes, no deck. We’ll tell you what we would do — and say so plainly if software isn’t the answer.
